About Me
My Education:
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Education from Central Washington University in secondary education. After working as a substitute teacher for a number of years, I decided to attend graduate school.
I received my Masters of Education in Counseling from Heritage University in mental health and school counseling. While in graduate school I discovered I enjoyed working in a therapeutic environment rather than a school setting. After graduation I became employed as a mental health therapist and received my state licensure. I applied and was accepted as a Nationally Board Certified Counselor since 2012.
Learning is important to me, therefore I have attended trainings through Harborview Sexual Assault and Trauma Center, the University of Washington as well as numerous other resources available, such as professional counseling organizations.
Different factors come into our lives which can bring joy and sorrow. When navigating this process it can be helpful to talk to someone about these changes.
My choice to become a counselor has given me the privilege to hear and be a part of an individuals life. I am always humbled and honored to be invited into the journey process.
I have lived in the Wenatchee Valley for over 30 years and enjoy the seasonal activities and beauty around me.
My philosophy as a counselor is client focused meaning counseling is about the client, not me. My style is casual and professional. I understand it takes time to trust a counselor and I have found humor, when appropriate is helpful. I have worked as a mental health therapist for 12 years.
